What draws me to this work is the community it creates and the curiosity it demands. Film and cultural programming occupy a realm where the unexpected is always possible, where connecting people to ideas and to each other consistently breaks down assumptions about how people live and what they care about. I find that genuinely energizing in a way that's been hard to replicate elsewhere.

A little more about me

My path here has been unconventional. I went to high school in Western Australia, studied international relations at Carnegie Mellon, and then moved to São Paulo, which turned out to be the most formative decision of my professional life. I spent six years there producing and programming for the Biennial Foundation, Cinemateca Brasileira, and the It's All True International Documentary Film Festival. Working in Brazilian cultural institutions taught me how to operate across difference: across languages, across institutional cultures, across wildly different relationships to time, resources, and ambition. It also gave me a network and a depth of connection to Brazil that I've carried everywhere since.

From São Paulo I moved to New York, where I spent six years at Film at Lincoln Center leading digital strategy for the New York Film Festival and Film Comment magazine. Building audience engagement programs for one of the US's most respected film institutions, and developing the analytics frameworks that helped the organization understand who it was actually reaching, gave me a rigorous grounding in how cultural institutions function at scale. I also began moderating public conversations with filmmakers there, something I've continued since: recent highlights include discussions with Sônia Braga and Kleber Mendonça Filho around Aquarius and the US opening of The Territory at Film Forum.

From 2017 to 2021 I was Director of Marketing and Communications at Creative Capital Foundation, where the work extended well beyond communications. I was embedded in the grantmaking process: evaluating applications in film and media, convening discipline-specific selectors, advising prospective applicants, and providing capacity-building support to funded artists across disciplines. I worked directly with the Executive Director and board as the organization's sole strategic advisor, owning the full scope of communications strategy including crisis management and institutional positioning.

Since 2022 I've been at the Rainforest Alliance as Director of Creative and Communications, leading global programs across 60+ countries from Paris, where I settled in 2023, the latest move in a career that has always been international, distributed, and comfortable operating across time zones, languages, and institutional contexts.

I also translated and interpreted Portuguese-English for cultural institutions including MoMA, Lincoln Center, and The Los Angeles Times, and have subtitled documentary and narrative features for Brazilian directors. It's work that sits at the intersection of language, film, and cultural access, which is exactly where I've always felt most at home.

My networks are strongest in the US and Brazil, and I'm actively building them in Europe. I have deep personal ties to Brazil and New Zealand, where I return regularly.
